Back in 2021, I worked with the creative advertising team at MOD Pizza, editing and color grading a series of their videos, one of which was their autobiographical showpiece. The additional videos were internal videos, displaying their store locations and sourcing b-roll coverage for use in future news media. My co-workers at Formosa Group audio-mixed this particular video, titled Stories from the Journey, after we reached picture lock on the edit and while I was color grading. It was a unique experience because the MOD team came to me with a rough edit from another ad agency, with the aim to refine and "save" their edit, all while under deadline and streams of upper management approval. We dove in by re-arranging entire sections, adding temp the voice-over with their new script, and scoured hard drives for perfect b-roll shots to add. Their team was excellent to work with, fun to be around, efficient, and creatively inspiring, open to collaboration while knowing how to both describe and ask for what they envisioned.
What we ended up with was an engaging and heart-warming storyline of the people-oriented values MOD Pizza upholds, promoting diversity, fostering a culture of opportunity, and hiring to make for a positive social impact – of which they call Spreading MODness.
